Malaysian-born Chef Soong oversees the operations of The Open Kitchen, Pastry, In-Room Dining, Banquet, Alfresco and Club Lounge, offering delicious Western dishes of the highest quality to guests and gourmets of Guangzhou.
Chef Eric Soong brings 19 years of culinary experience with him. He has worked with luxury brands such as Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental, The Ritz-Carlton, and Hilton in Malaysia, Dubai, Singapore and Cambodia. Prior to joining the team at Langham Place, Guangzhou, Chef Soong honed his skills across many places in China, including but not limited to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, which sent him in search of the ultimate culinary gems of the Chinese culture. Inspired by his multi-cultural background, Chef Soong transforms global ingredients into unique Asian dishes, creating new flavors that are diverse but never complicated, such as Red Curry Chicken, Braised Wagyu Beef Ribs, Smoked Salmon And Crabmeat Pearl, and Roasted Butternut Squash Soup.
